Licensing
I am licensed to teach K-12 music in Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan.
STUDENT ENDORSEMENTS
At the end of my student teaching experience, I asked my students to fill out an evaluation of my teaching. I asked them to rate me on several categories and then I asked "What is one thing Mrs. Brown does well?" to which I had these select responses (note: these comments are unedited):
"She's allways (sic) prepared for teaching." -Evan, 5th grade
"Takes time with everyone" -Max, 5th grade
"She makes music fun." -Jenny, 5th grade
"Making sure we do are best in band!" -Jordan, 5th grade
"She teaches something new in music almost every day." -Rena, 5th grade

The picture above is of the woodwind quintet I have been part of for all four years I spent at Hope College. Being a part of a group of fantastic musicians encourages me to become a better musician as well. This group came with me for a whole day at my student teaching placement and we played for all the students. I continue to play as a substitute for the Woodstock City Band over the summers.
