8th Grade Moscow, 1941 Lesson Plan
This lesson was written as part of my ESL certification and incorporates history, poetry and technology as students learn about the context that Moscow, 1941 by Brian Balmages was written and as they analyze the song lyrics/poetry that was incorporated into the piece.

6th grade brass unit plan
This is a five lesson unit plan that I wrote and executed at my student teaching placement. I taught one of the units from the Band Expressions book that the students use that included the students learning some history about Mozart, triplets, and arpeggios. In this unit plan, I used data-driven assessment by recording on my iPad the students sight-reading a piece and used that to decide the best way to teach them. I then recorded them individually performing the same piece at the end of the unit at which point I deducted that my teaching was effective because of the improvement in the students' performances.

8th Grade Band Lesson Plan
This is a lesson I taught to a band class of 89 eighth graders. I led the warm-ups, taught the concert F-dorian scale, rehearsed an arrangement of Coventry Carol and taught a basic history lesson on the piece.

Music appreciation - gershwin lesson
This is a lesson I taught to a music appreciation class at a high school. All the students in the class range from 9th-12th grade and took the class to receive their fine arts credit. As part of the lesson, I had the students do a RAFT, imagining they were Gershwin's parents writing his obituary. I got many great responses!

Recorder karate - 4th grade
This is a lesson I taught to a class of fourth grade students learning "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" as part of the Recorder Karate curriculum. It is the first lesson plan I ever wrote.
